Why am I so passionate about printing portraits?
Each portrait of our children and families fills our hearts with limitless love. Each image inspires deep and powerful emotion and triggers memories that become indelible. Each portrait is a tangible record of the legacy of our family and of the individuals who make us who we are.
We live in an age when we all feel like we are documenting our lives with the phones and devices that are tethered to our bodies. But most of today’s children will have no physical record of their childhoods for themselves or to share with the generations that follow. They will have no tangible memory of their experiences, their milestones, their celebrations. They will not have a physical record of who they were.
In my commitment to telling stories, I am passionate about printing our artwork to stand the test of time. I work with the most skilled print artists and print on the highest quality archival papers using pigment based archival inks. Each photograph goes through many rounds of tests and refinements before the final artwork is produced and evaluated to pass our incredibly high studio standard. Because, when the technology has changed, the cloud goes down, or the power goes out, it is through the printed portrait that we will still be able to see the people we love and have loved, even if by candlelight.
